NOPD Investigates Fatal Double Shooting on Oliver White Avenue

NOPD Investigates Fatal Double Shooting on Oliver White Avenue

The NOPD is investigating a double shooting that resulted in the death of one male victim.

Fifth District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting at around 7:55 p.m. in the 2900 block of Oliver White Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds inside of a home.

Both victims were transported to the hospital by EMS where one victim died from his injuries at the hospital.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.

No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
