The NOPD is investigating a traffic fatality that occurred during the early morning hours today (November 6, 2023) on Interstate 10 West at the Highrise Bridge and left a driver dead.
Just after 4:00 a.m., NOPD Seventh District officers responded to the scene. Through investigation, it was determined that the adult male driver of a vehicle was heading westbound on Interstate 10 at the Highrise bridge when, for undetermined reasons, his vehicle contacted another vehicle. The driver then lost control of his vehicle, struck a guard rail and was ejected from vehicle. The victim was pronounced on the scene.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will officially identify the victim and determine cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
