NOPD Arrests Suspect in Homicide Investigation

The NOPD has arrested Rakheem Kenner (black male, DOB: 12-31-2002) in the investigation of a homicide that occurred on November 27, 2023, at the intersection of Henriette Delille and Saint Anthony streets.

At about 4:07 p.m. on November 28, NOPD Fifth District officers were notified of a shooting at the listed location. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male gunshot wound victim. He was transported via EMS to a local hospital, where he was later declared deceased. Detectives were later notified of two additional gunshot wound victims from this incident that arrived at a local hospital by private conveyance.

Through investigation, NOPD Homicide Section detectives developed and positively identified Kenner as a perpetrator in this incident and obtained an arrest warrant on one count each of second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder. Kenner was located and arrested in the early hours today (November 28). He was booked accordingly into the Orleans Parish Justice Center.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
