NOPD Arrests Juvenile Suspect in Eighth District Shooting Investigation

The NOPD today (November 10, 2022) arrested a 16-year-old juvenile black male in the investigation of a shooting incident that occurred on November 6, 2022, in the 500 block of Bourbon Street.

At about 12:10 a.m. NOPD Eighth District officers responded to a shooting in the 500 block of Bourbon Street where two female victims sustained gunshot wounds. One victim was transported to a local hospital, while the second victim was treated on scene for a graze wound.

Through investigation and with the assistance of tips received through Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans, detectives developed and positively identified the juvenile as the perpetrator in this incident and obtained an arrest warrant. With the assistance of the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, detectives located the juvenile in that jurisdiction and arrested him without incident. The suspect was booked into the Juvenile Justice Intervention Center on one count each of aggravated battery by shooting and of being a juvenile in possession of a firearm.

Anyone with additional information on this incident is urged to contact NOPD Eighth District detectives at 504-658-6080.
