The New Orleans Police Department teamed up with Fuse Corps Fellowship to host a Fuse Fellow for the duration of a one year term. E. Aminata Brown was selected to join the NOPD as a Fuse Fellow Executive Advisor from October 2017 through October 2018.

Fuse fellows are brought in to promote the programs that the agency is looking to advance. Brown has several years of private sector experience of developing innovative approaches and producing results. Her mission is to further define the superintendent’s priorities for the SuperTech Program and to help the NOPD become an environmentally friendly and conscious department.

Brown meets regularly with each department to help tackle the challenges and identify possible solutions that will help modernize and digitize police department processes.

The NOPD is on the leading edge of key reforms and is working to be more responsive to the needs of the community. Brown’s goal is to help maximize the use of existing resources so officers can better serve residents.
