Suspects Wanted in Armed Robbery and Attempted Murder

The NOPD is searching for Walter Levy (DOB: 04/21/1983) and Steven Brown (DOB: 12/18/1967) who are wanted for their involvement in an attempted murder and armed robbery.

The incident happened on Sunday, (Oct. 22) at about 3 a.m. in the 400 block of Iberville Street, where the victim was robbed at knife-point. Video surveillance showed the victim walking down N. Peters Street when he was approached by the suspect who attempted to steal his wallet. The subject produced a knife and injured the victim, stabbing him several times in the face, neck, chest and torso. State troopers later discovered a knife in the 200 block of Clinton Street. Witnesses told police the perpetrator fled the scene towards Bienville Street. The reporting person told police the suspect was in his late 30s, wearing a long white t-shirt and jeans.

Brown was the perpetrator in this incident and Levy served as his accomplice. Brown is believed to frequent homeless shelters in the New Orleans area and has previously lived in McComb, Mississippi. Levy is believed to frequent the French Quarter and downtown areas of New Orleans. His last known address is in New Orleans East.
