Vehicle, Suspect Sought for Armed Robberies and Attempted Rape

Vehicle, Suspect Sought for Armed Robberies and Attempted Rape

The NOPD is looking for a suspect wanted in connection to multiple armed robberies and an attempted rape yesterday morning (Oct. 31) in the Third District.

 

Between 5:45 a.m. and 6:15 a.m., an unknown black male robbed three individuals. He took cash from a man in the 6200 block of Eads Street, a backpack from a woman in the 4300 block of Lotus Street, and a man's cell phone in the 2700 block of Selma Street. He then attempted to sexually assault a woman in the 5700 block of St. Anthony Avenue before fleeing the area on foot. 

 

The perpetrator is described as a black male with a dark complexion who is in his 20s to early 30s. He is approximately 6’ tall with a slender build and a beard. He was wearing a red baseball cap, red shirt, and dark pants.

 

The vehicle used by the suspect is described as a minivan that’s reddish or brown in color.

Armed Robbery

In Louisiana, an armed robbery conviction requires the offender to be imprisoned at hard labor for 10 – 99 years, without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence. When a firearm is used in the commission of the crime, the offender will be imprisoned for an additional 5 years that will be served consecutively to the original sentence.
