After 28 years of service, Commander Gary Marchese is retiring from the department on Friday (Nov. 4).
Marchese most recently served as the Commander of the Third District, which includes Lakeview, Gentilly and West End, and encompasses Dillard University, Southern University of New Orleans, Delgado Community College, University of New Orleans and City Park.
Superintendent Michael Harrison is expected to appoint a new Third District Commander in the coming weeks.
