Fifth District Officers Arrest Felon in Possession of Two Firearms

NOPD Fifth District Task Force and members of the Fifth District Second Platoon arrested Michael Jones (DOB: 11-13-1990) after he was seen displaying a firearm in plain view while operating a vehicle.

On Monday, May 22, 2017, at around 5:41 p.m., officers responded to an anonymous call regarding two black males displaying an assault rifle while occupying a black Nissan Altima with dark tinted windows in the 1900 block of North Rocheblave Street.

Upon arrival, they observed the Nissan Altima parked in the area. As officers proceeded to conduct a stop on the occupants,  officers observed an assault rifle in plain view inside of the vehicle.  Officers then discovered one of the occupants to be Jones, who has been convicted of two felonies. During a full body search, officers also located a second firearm in Jones’ possession.

Jones was arrested with a number of charges and booked accordingly into Central Lockup.
