For NOPD First District Officer Athena Monteleone and her Field Training Recruit, Rachel Harris, a Mardi Gras patrol along Canal Street on the night of Feb. 26 turned into a lifesaving situation.
The two administered CPR to help a woman who had stopped breathing had no pulse for a time until EMS arrived. The teamwork helped stabilize the woman for transport to a local hospital.
