UPDATE: NOPD Makes Quick Arrest in French Quarter Armed Robbery

Officers in the Eighth District have arrested Jaeson Krauss (DOB: 06-16-1998) for three counts of armed robbery, including two that occurred in the First District.

Krauss was apprehended on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, after he robbed two victims in the French Quarter late Sunday night. The victims were walking onto Dumaine Street when they were approached from behind by the suspect, who raised a weapon and pointed it at the victims’ head and demanded their property. The victims complied and the suspect fled the scene.

During the course of the investigation, officers were able to positively identify Krauss as the perpetrator in two separate armed robbery incidents that occurred in the First District.

Krauss was booked in to the Orleans Parish Justice Center for three counts of armed robbery and illegal possession of stolen things. However, Eighth District officers are still investigating this incident and more charges will follow.

Anyone with any additional information on these incidents should contact Eighth District detectives at 504-658-6080. Citizens with information that can help solve crimes are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
