The NOPD arrested Tyjon Luque (DOB: 12/10/1999) on Wednesday in connection to the homicide of 19-year-old Duvander Haley that occurred on July 14, 2017.
At about 7:16 a.m., Second District officers responded to a call of a man shot in the 8500 block of Jeanette Street. Upon arrival, officers found the unresponsive victim lying face up on the sidewalk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body. Haley was pronounced dead on the scene.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives developed Tyjon Luque as the perpetrator in the incident and was wanted by Homicide Detective Robert Bachelder.
Luque was located by Fourth District officers near the intersection of Kraft Place and General DeGaulle Drive.
He was arrested and booked into Central Lockup for Second Degree Murder .
