Suspect Arrested for Possessing & Distributing Drugs on Chef Menteur Highway

Officers in the Seventh District have arrested David Moore (DOB: 02-09-81) for illegal carrying of a weapon while in possession of narcotics and possession of a crack cocaine with intent to distribute.

The incident happened on January 17, 2018. At approximately 4:30 p.m., Detectives Kevin Nguyen and James Montano observed a subject bleeding profusely from the mouth in the 14000 block of Chef Menteur Highway. After interviewing the subject, officers learned that he was attempting to buy narcotics from the area when Moore struck him in the face with a closed fist while displaying a pistol. 

The detectives relocated to the location and observed narcotics in plain view prior to coming in contact with Moore. A search warrant was then executed on the location and officers discovered crack cocaine and firearms inside of the residence along with other drug paraphernalia and contraband.

Moore was transported to Central Lockup and booked accordingly. 

He was arrested for possession of crack cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal carrying of a weapon while in possession of narcotics.
