NOPD Investigates Fourth District Fatal Shooting

NOPD Investigates Fourth District Fatal Shooting

The NOPD Homicide Unit is investigating a homicide that claimed the life of an adult male victim Saturday January 20, 2018.

 

Fourth District  officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting at 11:58 a.m. in the 3600 block of Garden Oaks Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

 

The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.

 

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.

No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of an autopsy and notification of family.
