NOPD Arrests Suspect in Armed Robbery on Holiday Drive

The NOPD has arrested Royal Every (DOB: 01-27-1967) in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in the 3500 block of Holiday Drive on January 20, 2018.

The victim told police that at about 7:20 p.m., she was walking in the block when she was approached from behind by a subject later identified as Every. The victim said that the subject was armed with a knife and demanded property from the victim. The victim said she then fled, with the subject giving chase. The victim said she then ran into a bystander in the area, at which time the subject reportedly turned his aggression toward the bystander. With the aid of additional people in the area, the bystander was able to fend off and disarm the subject. The group then detained the subject until police arrived. The subject sustained a head injury during the altercation and was transported to an area hospital for treatment prior to booking.

Every was later booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for one charge of armed robbery, two charges of aggravated assault and one charge of simple battery.

Anyone with further information on this incident is asked to contact Fourth District detectives at 504-658-6040.
