NOPD Identifies Suspect Wanted in Fourth District Shooting Investigation

NOPD Identifies Suspect Wanted in Fourth District Shooting Investigation

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Louis Lebanks III (pictured, black male, DOB: 03-25-1978) in the investigation of a shooting that occurred on February 19, 2024, in the 1400 block of Casa Calvo Street.

Through investigation, NOPD Fourth District detectives have determined that the victim and Lebanks were engaged in a verbal argument. During the argument, Lebanks is believed to have shot the victim in the chest. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is currently listed in stable condition.

An arrest warrant has been obtained for Lebanks on charges of aggravated second-degree battery and possession of a firearm by a person convicted of domestic violence battery.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
