Officers in the Eighth District arrested Wayne Walker (DOB: 07-20-92) on Monday (Feb. 12) for illegal carrying of a weapon while in the possession of narcotics and for the intent to distribute marijuana.
Officers Rayvon Souffrant, Lee Berry and Joseph Winkler were patrolling on foot in the 400 block of Bourbon Street when spotted Walker pass a hand-held cigar containing what the officers determined to be vegetable-like matter consistent with marijuana.
Through the course of the investigation, officers discovered Walker to be in possession of 56 grams of marijuana and a .45 caliber MAC-10 assault type weapon, which was located inside the book bag he was carrying.
