Suspect Arrested by NOPD in Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault on North I-10 Service Road

The NOPD has arrested Clinton Hughes (DOB: 04-09-1989) in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on January 1, 2018 in the 11900 block of North I-10 Service Road.

On the aforementioned date, Hughes was reportedly seen shoplifting items from a Family Dollar store in the area when an employee confronted him. At that time, Hughes allegedly produced a knife and threatened to harm the employee before fleeing the store with the stolen items. Seventh District detectives used store surveillance footage to gain an image of Hughes, which led detectives to positively identify Hughes as the perpetrator.

During a separate incident, detectives identified Hughes at the scene and placed him under arrest for the armed robbery incident. Hughes was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for armed robbery and aggravated assault.

Anyone with additional information on this incident is asked to contact Seventh District detectives at 504-658-6070.
