NOPD Identifies Suspect Wanted in Homicide on Magnolia Street

The NOPD Homicide Unit has obtained an arrest warrant for Jacoby Age (DOB: 11/28/88) in connection with a homicide that occurred Wednesday (Feb. 14).

At around 10:33 a.m., Sixth District officers were dispatched to the intersection of Magnolia and Felicity Streets to investigate an aggravated battery by shooting incident. Upon arrival, they found an adult male lying on the ground in the driveway of a neighborhood corner store in the 1800 block of Magnolia Street.

EMS transported the victim to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead from his injuries, at which point NOPD Homicide Unit detectives took over the investigation.

Upon further investigation, detectives developed and positively identified Age as the perpetrator in the incident.

He is currently incarcerated on unrelated charges and will be rebooked with one count of second degree murder.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name and official cause of death. The investigation remains active at this time.
