NOPD Eighth District Seizes Narcotics, Firearms in Eighth District, Arrests Suspect

The NOPD arrested a suspect and seized multiple firearms and illegal narcotics on December 1, 2022, in the 200 block of Poydras Street during an ongoing investigation.

At about 6:15 p.m. on December 1, NOPD Eighth District Detectives executed a search warrant as part of a follow-up investigation into an armed robbery which occurred the same day. As a result of this search warrant, detectives seized two firearms, approximately 4.5 pounds of marijuana, approximately 64 grams of cocaine, large quantities of cash and other paraphernalia indicative of narcotics distribution.

One subject was arrested in connection with this incident for gun and narcotic-related offenses. As this investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected, the identity of the arrested suspect will not be released at this time.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
