The NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) and the U.S. Marshals today (April 7, 2021) arrested Shayla Bradley (pictured, female, DOB: 11-08-1999) and Dontez Baker (pictured, male, DOB: 03-03-2000) in the investigation of a shooting on April 4 in the 700 block of Canal Street.

During the incident, which occurred at approximately 1:42 a.m. on April 4, two victims sustained gunshot wounds and were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Two subjects – a male and a female – were seen fleeing the location after the incident. Through investigation, NOPD Eighth District detectives developed and positively identified the subjects as Bradley and Baker and determined that Baker was the perpetrator of the incident. Arrests warrants were obtained for each, with Bradley wanted on two counts of principal to attempted second-degree murder and Baker wanted for two counts of attempted second-degree murder.  .

VOWS and the U.S. Marshals utilized a Crimestoppers tip that Bradley and Baker were in Mississippi to track down the suspects.
