NOPD Arrests Two for Burglary, Criminal Damage to Property

The NOPD has arrested Brian J. Noonan (DOB:  4-4-97) and Carl J. Giraulo (DOB: 4-2-95) for burglarizing an event rental business on Woodland Drive.

Around 10:30 p.m. on April 16, 2017, two unknown white males were captured on surveillance video as they entered the business through an unsecured roll-down door. The two suspects, later identified as Noonan and Giraulo, were observed vandalizing the inside of the business and taking multiple items from the premises including a motorbike and a small safe that contained cash.

A citizen recognized the subjects from the still photographs taken from the video and contacted Fourth District Detective Tianay Marshall.

The two are charged with simple burglary of a business, and criminal damage to property. The stolen property was recovered. Citizens with information that can help solve crimes are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free 1-877-903-STOP.

SafeCam NOLA

SafeCam NOLA is a NOPD initiative that enlists the help of community members in the fight against crime. The SafeCam online registration service was developed by the New Orleans Police & Justice Foundation.

Citizen-provided security camera footage is increasingly becoming an invaluable asset to NOPD, helping establish leads and identify perpetrators. By voluntarily registering your contact information with NOPD through SafeCam NOLA, detectives will know how to reach you if a crime occurs in the vicinity of your camera. Registering your information does not provide NOPD with direct access to your camera and NOPD will only contact you if they believe your camera could contain evidence relevant to a criminal investigation. Evidence provided by your camera could mean the difference between bringing a perpetrator to justice versus leaving a crime unsolved.
