UPDATE: Missing Juvenile Reported on Canal Street Has Been Located

UPDATE: A’Lyri Elexis Smith has been located and is in good condition.

ORIGINAL RELEASE: The NOPD is seeking assistance in locating a12-year-old juvenile female reported as missing on April 9, 2017.

A’Lyri Elexis Smith (DOB: 04-09-2005) was last seen on April 9, 2017 at about 8:50 p.m. standing outside of the McDonald’s restaurant at 711 Canal Street with her mother and other siblings. Smith’s mother told police that she looked away for a few minutes and upon returning her attention back to her children, Smith was missing. Two security guards advised the reporting officer that Smith was observed walking on Canal Street towards the river with two unknown young black males minutes after her mother had notified the police of her being missing. No description of the males was provided and no surveillance video was available.     

A’Lyri Elexis Smith is described as a black female, approximately 5’09” in height and weighing approximately 120 pounds. Smith’s hair is described as being in a single crown braid around her head. She was last seen in the same attire as she is wearing in the included photo.
