NOPD Collects 120 Prom Gowns in Dresses for Dreams Drive

In partnership with community members and organizations, the NOPD collected more than 100 dresses for 60 junior and senior high school girls to choose from for their prom this year.

NOPD Graduates Newest Class of Officers Trained in Crisis Intervention Team Training

The NOPD today (March 29) graduated the newest class of police officers trained in specialized de-escalation techniques known as Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training. This is the ninth class to graduate from the training since the program launched in September 2015

UPDATE: Suspect Arrested in Shooting on Eads Street

UPDATE: Members of the NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad arrested Dwayne Franklin this morning (March 19, 2018). He will be booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for attempted second degree murder and illegal discharge of a firearm during a crime of violence.
